“The Little Prince” opens a new chapter in accessibility for the Deaf community — that’s how the AI Business portal described the “Accessible Book” project, and it’s hard to put it better.

Although still in its early stages, the initiative is gaining significant media attention in Poland. The team at Łukasiewicz – AI is combining video game technologies and artificial intelligence to create an automatic translation system that renders books into Polish Sign Language (PJM).

The project brings together PJM (Polish Sign Language) translators and AI engineers to build a resource base that enables a digital avatar to faithfully convey the meaning, style, and emotions of literary works. It’s a technological, educational, and deeply social undertaking, aimed at addressing the real needs of the Deaf community.

The first two titles are already available on the project’s YouTube channel:

The project has already been featured in major Polish media outlets such as TVP, RMF24, and AI Business, and the word continues to spread.
