Safer Internet Day

The Internet is now an inseparable part of our lives — we use it at work, at school, to stay in touch with family and friends, and to pursue hobbies or access public services. Every online connection, app, and device we use comes with security considerations that everyone should keep in mind. That’s why we celebrate Safer Internet Day on February 10 — an initiative raising awareness about online safety and promoting responsible use of the digital world.

Safe internet practices start with daily choices and good habits. Being aware of potential threats, cautious when sharing data and content, thinking critically about information, and ongoing education form the foundation of online safety. This day is a perfect opportunity to revisit the “golden rules” of internet use that help protect ourselves and others online.

Safer Internet Day is primarily a chance for education and dialogue — through lessons, workshops, webinars, and meetings that help children, teens, parents, teachers, and businesses better understand threats and how to avoid them. By combining education, research, and technology development, we contribute to building an internet where users feel safe and digital products and systems are designed with resilience and trust in mind.

Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity conducts a wide range of activities in the field of cybersecurity, including research and testing of systems and applications. We regularly host meetings, lectures, webinars, and workshops, so follow our website and social media to stay up to date on online safety — everyone interested is welcome to join us.

Because a safer internet starts with all of us — through conscious choices, responsible decisions, and collaboration among users, educators, technology creators, and institutions.
