\nThe SNADE project focuses on developing advanced navigation solutions for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) operating in challenging, hostile environments where GPS signals may be unavailable or interfered with. The project aims to do this by:
\n– Integrating multiple sensors and intelligently combining information, using data from optical, radar, LIDAR and other sensors.
\n– Using swarm operations to increase navigation efficiency and reduce costs.
\nThese innovations will enable drones to accurately determine their position, maintain mission reliability and adapt to complex scenarios. The solutions will be validated under realistic conditions, with full data logging and reproducibility in a simulation environment to ensure transparency and repeatability. The proposed approaches lay the foundation for future integration and operational applications, especially in the context of SWaP-C (size, weight, power consumption and cost).
\nSNADE is a joint venture between European universities, research entities and companies that are jointly setting new standards for autonomous navigation in extreme conditions.
\nThe SNADE project, along with other European Defense Fund-funded projects NAVISENSE-X, ORIGAMI and SWARMER, is part of the EDF Technology Challenge organized by the ORDEAL project consortium, which addresses the topic of Resilient Autonomous Drone Navigation.
\nROLE \u0141UKASIEWICZ – AI:
\n\u0141ukasiewicz – AI brings machine learning expertise and experience in defense-related projects to the consortium. \u0141ukasiewicz – AI acts as a leader of one of the work packages in the project, supporting the realization of goals in its area of expertise.
