{"id":24015,"date":"2025-06-25T13:01:19","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T11:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ai.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/projekty-miedzynarodowe\/rocd\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T13:01:19","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T11:01:19","slug":"rocd","status":"publish","type":"projekty-miedzynarod","link":"https:\/\/ai.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/en\/projekty-miedzynarodowe\/rocd\/","title":{"rendered":"ROCD"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[281],"class_list":["post-24015","projekty-miedzynarod","type-projekty-miedzynarod","status-publish","hentry","category-completed-project"],"acf":{"opis":"<p>The project titled: \u201cReduction of risks associated with harmful effects of coal dust (Reducing risks from occupational exposure to coal dust),\u201d acronym: \u201cROCD,\u201d is funded under the RFCS-2016 \u2013 EU Research Fund for Coal and Steel, based on a contract with the European Commission, No. 754205 \u2013 ROCD \u2013 RFCS-2016, as well as from research funds allocated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) for the implementation of an internationally co-financed project.<\/p>\n<p>PROJECT OBJECTIVES:<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the ROCD project is to conduct research on the analysis and prevention of dust hazards concerning health risks, with a particular focus on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Development of integrated methods and tools for analyzing and continuously monitoring dust hazards based on data from newly developed devices that monitor the physicochemical and toxicological properties of dust.<\/li>\n<li>Development of algorithms for analyzing and continuously monitoring dust concentration that consider a much wider range of parameters compared to previous models, including humidity, toxicological parameters, mining methods, and ventilation.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation of the effectiveness of currently used dust reduction methods concerning the smallest dust fractions.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation of the effectiveness of currently used dust reduction methods concerning the smallest dust fractions.<\/li>\n<li>Development of a real-time dust concentration monitoring system.<\/li>\n<li>Development of intelligent air-water curtains, controlled based on continuous dust concentration measurements, to optimize dust suppression while reducing energy and water consumption.<\/li>\n<li>Development of training materials for employers, employees, and legislators.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of consulting services and implementation of modern training methods for predicting and preventing dust hazards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The aim of the tasks undertaken by the EMAG Institute within the project will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determination of the needs and scope of experimental research.<\/li>\n<li>New technological solutions for continuous monitoring and mitigation of dust hazards.<\/li>\n<li>Training and informational activities.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in the development of e-learning modules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PLANNED OUTCOMES:<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the part of the project involving the EMAG Institute, the following outcomes are expected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved methods for assessing the impact of coal dust on worker health, more efficient dust reduction systems, and recommendations for respiratory protection measures.<\/li>\n<li>A modern device for real-time dust concentration monitoring in high-dust environments.<\/li>\n<li>Development of e-learning modules, publications, presentations, and training workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PROJECT VALUE: 3 692 902 EUR.<br \/>\nCONTRIBUTION OF EUROPEAN FUNDS: 2 215 741 EUR.<\/p>\n<p>Consortium members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Exeter<\/li>\n<li>G\u0142\u00f3wny Instytut G\u00f3rnictwa<\/li>\n<li>Instytut Techniki G\u00f3rniczej<\/li>\n<li>Premogovnik Velenje DD<\/li>\n<li>DMT GmbH &#038; Co.
