This is one of the key challenges for modern unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The SNADE project was created to develop solutions that ensure reliable operation of UAS in demanding and disrupted environments.  <br><br>The project focuses on developing advanced navigation methods for UAS that operate in environments with limited or no GPS availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Solutions Developed Within the Project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Multi-sensor integration \u2013 including optical, radar, LIDAR, and other sensors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intelligent data fusion \u2013 combining information from multiple sources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swarm operations \u2013 to improve efficiency and optimize costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach enhances the reliability of drones and improves positional accuracy under complex operational conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Official Launch of the SNADE Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project was officially launched in November in Munich during a meeting at the Universit\u00e4t der Bundeswehr M\u00fcnchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the kick-off meeting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>project teams were introduced,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the rules of the European Defence Fund (EDF) program were discussed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the work schedule was presented,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>initial technical discussions took place,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participants visited the university\u2019s facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the first step in the collaborative implementation of the project by the international consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International Collaboration Under the EDF<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SNADE is implemented by partners across Europe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Universit\u00e4t der Bundeswehr M\u00fcnchen \u2013 consortium leader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agriclima Consulting AB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RB Defence Kestrel Division Sp. z o.o. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logiicdev GmbH<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Universita Campus Bio Medico di Roma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is fully funded by the European Defence Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SNADE, along with the projects NAVISENSE-X, ORIGAMI, and SWARMER, is part of the EDF Technological Challenge organized by the ORDEAL project consortium, focused on resilient autonomous drone navigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 AI in the SNADE Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 AI is responsible for machine learning activities and leads one of the work packages.
